Seiichi Furuya Mémoires.

The Sankei Shimbun

Solo exhibitions held at the Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Photography from May 15 to July 19, 2010, and at the Kumamoto City Museum of Contemporary Art from September 18 to November 28 of the same year."Memoir. Love's Revenge, Leaving Together..."A collection of works published as an exhibition catalogue.

In addition to the illustrations, the book also contains many interviews and essays in Japanese, making it a valuable resource."Aus den Fugen"An encore exhibition was held.

"This exhibition is the culmination of the theme of the 'Mémoires' series, which has been on display for over 20 years since 1989. 'It's not that I've just found something I must have been searching for after her death, going back and forth between various times and spaces where disorganized memories and records intersect, but rather that I've found a vague answer that, in the end, nothing will ever be found' (from an interview in January 2010). Furuya's thoughts are also reflected in the title of the exhibition, 'Mémoires.' Furuya's creative endeavors have been to revive and reweave memories that continue to live on beyond time and space by facing facts head-on and interacting with another self. Furuya's world of expression, which he describes as 'Photography is a wonderful medium that allows us to face the 'something hopeless' that lies deep within the heart and to bring it up into the realm of expression', is explored through the 'Mémoires' series, which is housed in the Tokyo Photographic Art Museum. The exhibition will feature a total of 100 works. In addition, the editing process of the photobook, which is the essence of Furuya's work, will be made public, and an unpublished self-published photobook that Furuya himself edited and bound will also be on display. - Excerpt from the exhibition release
