Pictures for Looking at & Equivalents by Jason Evans

A photo zine by British photographer Jason Evans.

In this book, Evans combines still life photographs with images of corresponding colors divided into rectangles on a diagonal. Evans says that he decided on this combination after searching for an equivalent balance that would make the reader wander between the two images and feel strange. The divided rectangular image was also used on the cover of his 2012 collection, "NYLPT," and suggests the artist's continued interest in the transformation of images brought about by chance and human perception.
