Then things went quiet

MW Projects

British independent curator/writer Charlotte Cotton ) and British artist/gallerist Max Wigram curated the group exhibition of the same name.

This exhibition introduces the works of photographers who place importance on quietly observing their subjects, even if they are mundane, rather than those who overrepresent things. The two point out that finding value in recording in this way produces photographs with a universal intensity in which visual appeal and experience are embedded, and that this is the peculiar appeal of the photographic medium. What they have in common is the use of traditional medium-format and large-format cameras, making Shafran and other photographers different from other snapshot photographers. This is a very important point to understand.
