Roma Publications and Mark Manders
The independent Dutch publisher Roma Publications was founded in 1998 by artists Mark Manders and Marc Nagzam, and graphic designer Roger Willems, and despite its independence, it continues to be at the forefront of the global publishing scene today.
The experiments and practices that Mark Manders and Roma Publications have conducted together have not only played an important role in shaping their style and approach to art, but can also be seen as having further expanded the possibilities of artist books as alternative works and spaces, which conceptual artists of the 1970s had discovered.
