This exhibition introduces the work of photographers who do not over-express things, but rather place importance on quietly observing their subjects, even if they are mundane. The two point out that finding value in such recording produces photographs with a universal strength that is embedded with visual appeal and experience, and that this is the unique appeal of the medium of photography. They also point out that one thing they all have in common is that they use traditional medium and large format cameras, which is very important in understanding photographers such as Shafran as being different from other snapshot photographers.
