(Signed) Shipwrecked by Ekaterina Vasilyeva
Self-published work by Ekaterina Vasilyeva, a Russian photographer from San Petersburg.
Vasilyeva lived between 2012 and 2017 between Russia and England. One day, she discovers a photograph taken in England in the 1940s and 1950s by an unknown boy. “Archive photography is not just a relic of the past, but an organic presence rooted in the present and connected to the future,” she said. Based on this idea, she combined those photographs with photographs she took herself to create a small story of the country of England, interwoven with the time axes of different eras.
This is a very cute hand-bound artist's book, and editions No. 1 to 30 come with vintage prints that were actually used, and subsequent editions come with cut vintage prints at random.
Limited to 50 copies. Signed.
