From Saturday, 19 September, IACK presents a special feature on NEUTRAL COLORS, a publisher and printing house.
NEUTRAL COLORS is at once an independent publisher, the name of the magazine it publishes, and a printing and binding workshop, the three connected organically. Its approach to publishing is for a small group of people to handle everything from printing and binding through to distribution. Positioned between mass commercial printing that presupposes waste and the very small runs of independent publishing, it aims to establish an economically sustainable model of mid-scale publishing.
IACK has collaborated with NEUTRAL COLORS over the years: selecting titles for NEW COVER, contributing to the NEUTRAL COLORS supplement "Honto no Hon no Hanashi wo Shiyou #1", and through exchanges at art book fairs.
This is the first in a series of projects conceived by IACK to coincide with the exhibition "NEUTRAL COLORS NEW CIRCUIT" at the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa (15 September 2026 – 18 April 2027, Design Gallery).
The shop will carry ten titles in all: four issues of the magazine NEUTRAL COLORS, the latest issue and back issues, together with other publications by NEUTRAL COLORS.
We hope you will visit us alongside the exhibition at the museum.
