A collection of works by Italian photographer Luigi Gilli.
In 1982, Gilli first visited Puglia, the "heel of Italy". There he met white-walled streets, bright nights, doors and arches, potted plants with cacti, carnivals and beaches, and the artists, critics and curators who would later become his best friends and collaborators. Over the next 10 years, he visited the area almost every year, photographed him, and held exhibitions to deepen his understanding of the area. Most of the photographs in this book are unpublished works that have not been well known until now, and capture the texture and rhythm of urban life while conveying to the reader the joy of seeing visual coincidences and tactile details. give. Gilli is an image full of light unique to southern Italy, such as the bright sun and shadows that stretch and change shape, and the otherworldly atmosphere of the city with neon lights and street lights after sunset. It draws a map of Puglia through the traces it leaves.
