A collection of works by British photographer Clare Richardson.
This book presents photographs taken in a small North American community that conducts education in accordance with the "Steiner/Waldorf Education" advocated by the Austrian philosopher Rudolf Steiner. Recording. Freedom of expression, creativity, and imagination are encouraged above all else, and the aim is to foster a free-spirited self-confidence and identity in nature that is almost non-existent in contemporary American society. Richardson happened upon a friend of hers who lived there, and she was charmed by their respect for nature and the "confident serenity" of the small community. The photographs taken over the course of two years by the artist, who said that visiting this place completely changed her values in life and education, are full of quiet strength and freshness.
