Bolnichka by Vladyslav Krasnoshchok

A collection of works by Ukrainian artist and maxillofacial surgeon Vladislava Krasnoshchuk.

Vladislava Krasnoshchok studied medicine at Kharkiv Medical University from 1997 to 2002, and began working as a photographer in 2008. In 2010, she joined the Kharkiv School of Photography group "Shilo" with Serhiy Lebedinsky, Vadim Trikozan, and Oleksiy Sobolev. This book captures the medical workers who work in an outdated infrastructure, with low wages and responsibilities that are disproportionate to the hard work. Krasnoshchok chooses an insider position and expresses the harshness of everyday life through her photographs, such as this work, which was shot between 2010 and 2018 at Kharkiv State Emergency Hospital, where she has worked for 10 years.
