This book includes photographs of German soldiers relieving themselves on the battlefields of World War II. There is no dignity in war, and no modesty. Kessels reveals a particularly brutal side of war, a sight that is not usually included in history books. Despite the horror and chaos of conflict, some aspects of daily life continue, even on the battlefield.
