Goldwin 0: Enquiry #1, #2, #3

A publication by Goldwin 0, the experimental and technical platform of Goldwin, the sportswear and equipment manufacturer founded in Toyama in 1950 with origins in ski apparel.

Enquiry #1, #2, and #3 consist of three catalogues presented in the form of a book project. Published in parallel with the broader Goldwin 0 initiative, it documents a series of activations carried out across spatial, sonic, and material contexts to explore a liminal territory in which design, technology, and art coexist in alignment with nature.

The project emerged from intimate collaborations with a wide range of cultural practitioners—musicians, dancers, choreographers, poets, architects, designers, writers, researchers, and artists—while also extending a long-term dialogue with Daniel Shea. Each "enquiry" tests the latent potential inherent in genuinely open and unrestrained creative experimentation, where distinctions between research, process, and outcome can no longer be sustained.

Housed in a washi sleeve, the publication comprises a large-format fold-out visual research paper, a saddle-bound (stub-stitched) booklet featuring multiple embossed pages, and a cinematic photobook containing numerous plates realised through a meticulous photographic printing process. Although one can approach each format independently, the project ultimately functions as a whole, fostering a productive dialogue between diverse methodologies.
