Lost and Found by James Perols

A photobook by British photographer James Perolls.

Known for his cinematic style that captures scenes like stills from a film, Lost and Found is Perolls’ second self-published work. In this project, he combines his photographs with fashion inspired by the personal upbringing of stylist Dean Davis, constructing an imagined fashion narrative. Through the lens of early 2000s British fashion aesthetics, the book explores the emotional intricacies of friendship in a cinematic way.

While the colour palette inevitably evokes the films of Sofia Coppola, it is also laced with a subtle unease—echoes of staged photography by artists such as Jeff Wall and Philip-Lorca diCorcia can be felt throughout.

First edition of 250 copies, out of print.
