Dark Rooms by Nigel Shafran
A collection of works by British photographer Nigel Shafran.
“Supermarket checkouts,” which captures products on a supermarket checkout conveyor, and “Paddington escalators,” which captures people getting off an escalator from the side. "Mobility shops," a series about nursing care products shops; "Mother's work," which captures the work her mother was making at home; and "Packages," which records empty containers piled up in her kitchen. This book unfolds in a matter-of-fact manner, inserting scenes from her home into key points in these seemingly disjointed series. Although this book is a collection of five unpublished series by Shafran, it is also beautifully edited as a new work.
