The Oldest Thing by Ruth van Beek

A collection of works by Dutch artist Ruth van Beek.

The author collects archival material, such as magazine and reference book clippings. By folding, cutting and painting, he physically intervenes in the photographs, rearranging and manipulating the images to reveal the universe hidden within. This book features around 250 photographs, collages, archives and paintings, including some relating to his own mother, along with seven poems by his longtime friend, Valle-Bois.

--This is the artist's largest collection of works to date. It may or may not be useful for something... It's a collection filled with love, like the junk and flyers you put away in the closet, hoping that you might find some use in the future.
