Exosphere by Batia Suter

This book was produced in conjunction with Batia Suter's exhibition "Exosphere," held at CAGE GALLERY in Tokyo from August 25 to October 29, 2023. In this work, Suter contrasts the image of armor with the cushioning materials used to transport fruits, vegetables, and headphones. The author often uses old photographs and clippings as documents, but in this book she takes up materials that are familiar to modern people, making the interesting act of unravelling the ties between fixed meanings and images that she has been involved in even more.
This exhibition was planned and realized by Kanazawa-based publisher Keijiban and produced as a co-publication with Netherlands-based publisher Roma Publications.
