The Photographic I: Other Pictures

This is an exhibition catalogue published in conjunction with "The Photographic I: Other Pictures," the first act of a two-part exhibition held at SMAK, Museum of Contemporary Art, Ghent, Belgium from October 7, 2017 to January 21, 2018.

From the 1960s to the present day, there has been growing attention to the power of photography as a means of examining the world.Mohamed Bourouissa, Moyra Davey, Roni Horn,Aglaia Konrad,Jochen Lempert, Zanele Muholi, Malick Sidibé, Dayanita Singh,Wolfgang TillmansThe exhibition will feature new and old works by artists and photographers such as these, and will explore the reality of modern, unique photographic expression, which requires time to be taken to interpret due to its shift towards more multi-layered expression, and which is difficult to define because it does not stick to a specific perspective.

The contrast between the catalogue structure and the newspaper-like paper used makes this a unique book.
