Newfave

A collection of works by Japanese photographer Kobayashi Kenta.

Kobayashi is an artist who has attracted a lot of attention for his style of work, in which he applies bold digital editing to his own photographs to create graffiti-like effects, transforming images into pictures of photons made of dissolved pixel data. In recent years, in addition to exhibiting at museums and galleries both in Japan and overseas, he has expanded the scope of his activities greatly, collaborating with contemporary fashion brand "PUGMENT" and programmer Takada Yuuki, creating collection pieces for dunhill's 2020SS collection, LOUIS VUITTON's 2019AW campaign image, and Maison Osaka Midosuji's window display.

In this work, he focuses on Tokyo and other cities and the people of his generation who live there, capturing these scenes in various relationships based on his own experience and learning, such as body, technology, and history. The question about photography, "What does it mean to capture the truth?" is posed beyond the framework of concrete/abstract, straight/expanded images.

Like the previous work, the printing method used is "Kaleido Ink Kaleido", which allows for a wide range of colors close to RGB despite being offset printed, and produces vivid colors like images on a monitor. In addition, the binding is also the same as the previous work, with the pages being detachable with a single elastic band, and it is possible to make a book by binding the series together.
