#selfies by Harry Woodrow
A collection of works by Harry Woodrow, a British artist and designer living in Stockholm.
This book features 76 selected works from the series "#selfies" that the artist has been posting on Instagram since 2015. As the name suggests, the photographs are selfies, but the photographer Woodrow wears a special box with a mirror attached to his head, so that he can also capture his own equipment and the scene in front of him. The series presents traditional issues in photography, such as subject and object, photographer and subject, in a more open manner, and once again questions the meaning of selfies to modern audiences, who have become part of everyday culture. In addition to a conversation between Woodrow and curator Nora Arrhenius Hagdahl about the role of selfies in modern society, the book also includes an essay by artist and writer David Price.
