A collection of works by Dutch photographer Raimond Wouda.

In 1918, due to a serious housing shortage caused by a rapid population increase in Amsterdam, it was mainly the working-class citizens who lived in an environment with poor ventilation and no light. It became a social problem. To remedy this situation, in 1921 one of Amsterdam's first full-fledged garden villages, the Tjundorp Oostzaan district, was created north of Amsterdam. In order to provide each home with light and air, enough space, and a secure place to stay, each house in this district has a solid entrance and front and back. A garden was provided.

Uda's grandmother and mother grew up in a small house surrounded by gardens in this Tynndorp Oostzaan. And he, too, lived with his mother, father, grandmother, and two of her sisters for the first three years of his life until his parents built a house in the city. Even after leaving there, the Twindolp played an important role in Uda's life, spending his childhood at his grandmother's house on weekends and holidays. . And as he grew older, the twinndorp became a stranger, more familiar and ambivalent place for Uda. As a means to understand its meaning, Uda continues to shoot at this location even today. In this book, Uda incorporates texts, archives and other sources in addition to his own photographs to further explore the region's historical complexity and context. As these three different materials fuse together, the history of the region and the artist's identity are gradually unraveled.
