Top Ten: 2008 - 2018 by James Hoff

A collection of works by James Hoff, a Brooklyn-based artist and co-founder/director of the independent publishing house Primary Information.

Since April 1998, in nearly every issue, art magazine Art Forum has asked various members of the art world to compile a top ten list of their favorite recent exhibitions (or concerts, TV shows, books, events, etc.). A sequel to its predecessor, Top Ten: 1998 - 2008, this volume reframes the columns from 2008 to 2018 for the new publication.

By removing all illustrations from the column, Hof draws attention to the written text and its rhetoric. The publication offers a casual, parallel view of the art world over the course of a decade, distilling how powerful cultural critics and producers are selected by Art Forum.
