ORDER by Óscar Monzón
A photobook by Spanish photographer Óscar Monzón.
In ORDER, Monzón explores the hypothesis that in contemporary urban life, advertising imagery influences not only how people dress but also how they behave. Between 2014 and 2019, he photographed major cities around the world, using a straightforward approach inspired by traditional street photography. His images examine the interplay between advertising and the urban public, revealing moments where commercial imagery and real life collide—sometimes producing unexpected meanings or dissonant contrasts.
ORDER continues Monzón’s incisive social commentary, building on the critical success of his first photobook, "KARMA," which won the Paris Photo–Aperture Foundation First Book Award in 2013. While maintaining the sharp social gaze of his previous work, he now captures the urban landscapes of New York, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Berlin, Rome, and Madrid with a more refined approach and structure.
