Mother Nature by Erik Kessels

A photobook by Dutch artist Eric Kessels.

The book features photographs of women posing in front of public and private gardens, fields and other settings that include flower beds. Kessels' own photographic collection embodies this universal theme, weaving a common story through repetition and difference. The book also gives us the opportunity to move between places, times, generations and cultures. Individual stories and heterogeneous expressions create a universe where our common and immutable practices come together. In the book, Kessels gives new visibility to these private photographs, creating a visual anthropology of lived moments.
