"The photographs in this book were taken in Brighton and Hove in 2010, featuring objects and creatures collected from the local environment and captured on the body of my camera. The result is highly detailed macro shots interspersed with landscapes and portraits. I like to think of the photographs as photograms in the camera, where conflicts or harmonies are formed randomly in the final image depending on where the objects landed. In some cases, Brighton sunlight was focused onto the negatives with a magnifying glass, and the images were etched directly into them. Some of the negatives were also immersed in the sea." - Stephen Gill
