All The Things You Are by Livio Baumgartner and Simone Lappert
A collection of works by Swiss artist Livio Baumgartner.
This book is a collection of photographs taken between 2009 and 2012 in the small apartment in Bern, Switzerland, where Baumgartner's father lives. The photographs, taken as if peeking into the house, show countless everyday items scattered around like a contemporary art installation: potted plants, yoga mats, boxes, baskets, candles, watering cans, clothes, and more. Baumgartner saw the shadow of his father trying to create order in the seemingly disorganized chaos of things, giving each item its proper place, and arranging them beautifully. These photographs capture the aspects of "things" that reflect their owners. The poems by Swiss poet Simone Lappert, which accompany the photographs, express Baumgartner's thoughts in literary terms, adding a new layer to the photographs.
