This book was produced in conjunction with the exhibition "MOT Annual 2016: Disguise Life," held at the Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo from March 5 to May 29, 2016.

This book is a form of social experiment to explore new possibilities for supporting the arts. The guild was established by artists themselves. This book was produced jointly by the ARTISTS' GUILD and the non-profit organization Arts Commons, and addresses the issue of "self-censorship," which has become a topic of discussion in various industries in recent years.

The book was edited by ARTISTS' GUILD member and artist Koki Tanaka and NPO Arts Commons member and editor Yuki Kageyama, with the English translation handled by ARTISTS' GUILD member and artist Yuki Okumura and the Art Translators Collective. "We think that we are speaking freely in today's society. But just how free is our freedom? Are you really speaking freely? Could it be said that your freedom is in negotiation with the oppression of society? Are you censoring yourself in the name of self-regulation? Or, even if you were able to speak freely, would that freedom be hurting someone else?" - Excerpt from the text
