The Rainbow is Underestimated by Piero Percoco

A collection of works by Italian photographer Piero Percoco.

Piercoco taught himself photography with an iPhone 6s camera, and his unique worldview attracted a lot of attention on Instagram. After the success of his previous book, Prism Interiors, which was guest edited by photographer Jason Fulford, Piercoco and his publisher Skinnerboox worked on a new book with more thorough images. The book contains photos taken over the past five years in Puglia, southern Italy, mainly around the author's hometown of San Nicandro di Bari. The result of a long period of trial and error, Piercoco calls this work a "visual training novel." Instead of the classic technique of combining two photos on a double page, Piercoco tried to construct a sequence that reflects the author's daily routine and attitude towards photography by arranging one photo on each page in a sequence that resembles a larger flow of associations, visual and semantic references.
