It Was Dark That Night And We Made It Through The Woods By Touch by Rie SUZUKI

New Accident

A photobook by Japanese photographer Rie Suzuki.

Suzuki has produced works and zines inspired by fantasy and science fiction films for a long time. In this book, she brings together five visual stories into one volume, creating a structure reminiscent of a short story collection. Through this composition, the fragmented scenes that had previously appeared in the background of her works are woven together into a vast, cohesive world that unfolds before the reader’s eyes.

Included with the book is a lenticular card—like a bookmark—that changes its image depending on the viewing angle, produced under the concept of “overlapping realities and fantasies”. The book was published in conjunction with Suzuki’s solo exhibition held at the curated space “NN” in Kanazawa from 6 to 28 November 2021. Edited by photographer Yukihito Kono.

Limited edition of 300 copies.
