Pictures for Looking at & Equivalents by Jason Evans

Photo zine by British photographer Jason Evans.

In this book, Evans combines images of still-life photographs taken with obliquely divided rectangles of each corresponding color. Evans says that he decided on the combination after the reader simply wandered between the two images, searching for an equivalence balance that felt strange. The segmented rectangular image was also used on the cover of the collection of works "NYLPT" published in 2012, and the artist's ongoing interest in the transformation of images brought about by chance and human perception can be felt.
