Newspaper with Fives by Mark Manders and Roger Willems

A tabloid by Dutch artist Mark Manders and graphic designer Roger Willems of Roma Publications.

This work is a sequel to the project of the same name published in 1999, and stems from an interest in how the brain interprets external stimuli—such as five frozen animals placed in a row—as the abstract concept of the number “5.” The publication consists solely of words and photographs related to the number five, and was distributed throughout the city of Arnhem.

This is Roma Publications’ 25th title. Limited edition of 150,000 copies.
