Migrations, Givors by Alexandre Guirkinger

The 21 landscape photographs included in this book were taken in March 2022 through a photography workshop organized by French photographer Alexandre Girkinguel and the exhibition space and resource center "Stimultania", in collaboration with "CADA Le Moulins Asylum Reception Center" and the non-profit organization "Forum réfugiés". The workshop was attended by six migrants who recently settled in Givors, in the east of France. Ali Rahmani, Fukadou A, Habibollah R, Nassim Rahimi, Nicole M, Nuhas K, Omid M and Suleiman N, first listed the places that impressed them since their arrival in the city, the places they visit every day, the places they particularly like, and the places that symbolize France. After an initial research, they took photos with an 8x10 inch large format camera in dialogue with Alexandre Girkinguel. All participants printed contact sheets of their photos and created captions in their native language.
