"I feel so lucky to have been there for my best friend Amanda when she gave birth to a baby girl called Ruby last year. My sister, who is a midwife, told me so many birth stories. Amanda and I have known each other for 15 years and have done everything together, so I had imagined what I would experience and prepared ideas for it, but in reality, I had no idea. It was all far beyond my imagination: emotions, pain (not my own pain, but it was hard to feel it directly), so many twists and turns. There was something so full, but I just waited for that moment without doing anything. And then... Hello Ruby. Welcome to the world! I am so happy to have been there for the moment you were born. This is the 11th book in the self-published series I have been working on since 2008, and I spent most of my time editing it.
