Case History by Boris Mikhailov
A collection of works by Ukrainian photographer Boris Mikhailov.
For more than 30 years, Mikhailov has been working on documentaries about the people and society living in Ukraine under the Soviet Union and after the collapse of the Union. These homeless and orphans, who can be called victims of society, are sometimes painful enough to turn away from, but Mikhailov does not hesitate to communicate with them and shoots after paying a guarantee. In that respect, the photographs he takes are co-created with the subject, creating unique photographs that can be taken as both comedy and tragedy.
This series is Mikhailov's representative work, photographing people including homeless people and orphans after the collapse of the Soviet Union from 1997 to 1998. It was published by the now-defunct legendary publisher "SCALO".
