Erwin Wurm Photographs
A survey of Erwin Wurm’s photographic practice, published on the occasion of the artist’s first retrospective at the Maison Européenne de la Photographie in Paris.
Erwin Wurm Photographs was published to accompany Wurm’s first retrospective, held at the Maison Européenne de la Photographie (MEP) in Paris from March to June 2020. Bringing together around 600 photographs made from the late 1980s to the present, the book offers a renewed perspective on the breadth of Wurm’s practice. It also includes original contact sheets and previously unpublished archive prints, making visible both the range of his work and the processes behind it.
Alongside major series such as Dust Sculptures, Fabio Getting Dressed and the iconic One-Minute Sculptures, the volume also introduces more recent photographic works made with large-format Polaroids. Through the medium of photography, the book offers a fresh view of Wurm’s sculptural thinking, humour and sense of the body.
