We live in an age where events occurring in any distance can be shared in real time through the Internet. However, it is not widely known that this network is supported by long, thin cables that run under the ocean between continents. This book focuses on themes of the near and far worlds, the ocean and the Internet, the physical and virtual worlds, and the worlds that are considered culturally, technologically, and naturally, and features photographs taken on a beach facing the Atlantic Ocean and at a network management facility. The repetition and unique layout create a strange feeling that one is looking at a photograph on a monitor, even though one is looking at a printed matter.
