"From Ike to Newton, many have experienced gravity, whether in religion, art or science. The exhibition 'Le Carigneur de Gravity' takes an oblique look at weightlessness and the art of liberation.
Art, science and religion share the fact that they often try to give priority to matter over the ordinary laws of physics. The dominance of gravity thus gave rise to many fantastic stories in which the weight of the world proved ineffective.
From the Assumption of the Virgin Mary to the conquest of space and the sublimation of earthly forces, gravity was a symptom of this inexorable human decay, and miracles, utopias and alchemy were healed in the name of mythical agility: that of the winged god Hermes. In this striking spirit, 'Le Carigneur de Gravity' brings together contemporary works, making it possible to take an oblique look at the liberating art of weightlessness.
