Vitali is the fourth artist to be selected for the artist-in-residence program sponsored by LVMH M?tiers d'Art. I visited Renato Menegatti, an Italian luxury hardware maker that provides her work, and worked with her researcher for six months.

In order to poetically transform the techniques and various materials used in the factory and bring out its organic nature, suppleness, depth and sensual side, Vitali transforms our usual understanding of metal. I created a sculptural work that overturned. This book contains not only images of the actual works produced, but also conversations at the factory, photographs of the workshop, numerous details of her experiments, and photographs of materials and machines.
