A collection of works by American photographer Raymond Meeks.

Meeks is known for his poetic portrayals of the boundaries of vision, consciousness and understanding, using photography and the book format. In The Dark, he turns his gaze closer to home, probing whether we can truly understand our material surroundings and those closest to us. He has long been interested in how we construct the world around us, how we carry around our comforts, our inheritances and the tokens of material success, how we decorate our homes with objects as diverse as plants and ticking clocks. Hidden in the ruins he stumbles upon and the unkempt lawns, he searches for clues to the commonality of small sins. Perhaps the most important questions in our self-centered reality are those of knowledge and understanding. In the early morning, he photographs his partner and fellow photographer Adrianna Ault while she is still asleep.
