BLISNER, III (Newspaper Edition) was produced as part of the Digital Artist Residency Program run by the Department of Photography at Columbia College Chicago. Published two years before BLISNER, IL, it stands in direct continuity with that later book and brings together photographs made through a close engagement with the place they depict. The tabloid format reinforces the work’s raw, immediate presence, while the publication’s structure points toward Shea’s ongoing interest in the relationship between image, place and material form.

Includes texts by artist and designer Morgan Brill and artist John Friel.
