Published in conjunction with "The Eye Is a Lonely Hunter: Images of Humankind," a photo festival held in Mannheim, Ludwigshafen, and Heidelberg, Germany from September 10th to November 11th, 2011 exhibition catalog.

The exhibition, curated by Katerina Gregos and Solvej Helweg Ovesen, featured 56 artists from 32 countries. A study of the human condition in the second decade of the 21st century from multiple geographical angles, including Africa, America, Europe and Asia, focusing on new and important ways in which photography conveys anthropological knowledge. Aiming for photographic research. Using a variety of lens-based media that reflect the magnified nature of contemporary photography, the artist's work draws on documentary, ethnographic, and staged photography traditions to critique the anthropological role of today's photography. and often takes as its starting point the humanistic perspective of the documentary photography tradition. What will the 2011 portrait of humanity look like? What are the key challenges and challenges facing humanity today? And how are they represented? How do photographs create empathy and evoke emotions?
