Purple revolutionized fashion photography in the 1990s by commissioning artists to shoot fashion editorials, setting a new aesthetic for the magazine. Its influence was immeasurable, and it is said that the magazine industry turns to Purple first when they need inspiration. This book features reproductions of covers and inside pages from the magazine's issues from 1992 to 2006, making it an excellent source of documentation. Photographers include Mark Borthwick, Anders Edström, Rita Ackermann, Terry Richardson, Juergen Teller, Jack Pearson, Richard Prince, John Currin, and Vanessa Beecroft, and models include Kim Gordon, Chloe Sevigny, Kate Moss, Catherine Deneuve, and Vincent Gallo.
