A Mycological Foray by John Cage

A collection of works by John Cage, an American contemporary musician, composer, poet, thinker, and mycologist.

Entitled "Interventions in Mycology," this two-volume collection takes the reader into the mushroom-filled landscapes of the artist's mind. The first volume features photographs and texts from the artist's fungal explorations and the various plants and fungi he encounters along the way. It also includes the complete script of his 1983 performance "MUSHROOMS et Variationes." In addition, the file-like "MUSHROOM BOOK" is the first reproduction of the artist's 1972 portfolio. It also features illustrations by American illustrator and fellow mycologist Lois Long and commentary by American botanist Alexander H. Smith.
