A photobook by American photographer Joel Meyerowitz, Japanese photographer Daido Moriyama, and American artist John Divola.

Bringing together for the first time three of the most influential photographers from Japan and the United States, this book originates from an exhibition curated by Simon Baker—then Senior Curator of International Art (Photography) at Tate Modern in London and now Director of the Maison Européenne de la Photographie (MEP)—for Tokyo Photo 2013.

The concept of both the exhibition and this book is straightforward: to assemble a coherent series of photographs, carefully selected in collaboration with the artists, each of which takes as its theme the view from a moving car. By combining the movement of the vehicle with the camera’s ability to freeze a moment, each work captures fleeting scenes drawn from the continuous flow of passing landscapes.
