(Mint) A Song For Windows by Takashi Homma
A collection of works by Japanese photographer Takashi Homma.
"Inspired by the 1998 documentary "Haru, yksin?isten saari (Haru, the Island of the Solitary)," Takashi Homma traveled from his hometown in the big city of Tokyo to the remote island of Kluvhar, in the Pellinki archipelago in Finland. There, he documented the idyllic island and the cabin where Finnish author Tove Jansson (author of the children's book Moomin) spent her summers with her partner, illustrator Tuulikki Pietilä, for almost a quarter of a century. Through the author's curious lens and his generosity towards architecture and space, readers witness the solitude and humble life of the hidden Scandinavian islands, their cultural heritage, and the impact his writing and characters have on people of all ages. The book pays tribute to Tove Jansson (1914-2001) and all of the text is taken from her book "The Summer Book" (1972), which consists of 22 independent chapters.
