The Badger's Song by Michaël Borremans

A collection of works by Belgian artist Michaël Borremans.

Two of Borremans' paintings, drawings, and videos are characterized by ambiguity and contradiction. His seemingly mundane scenes, created with virtuoso technique, disturb the viewer the more he looks at them. Combining black humor, violence, absurdity, and beauty, his characters create strange, alienating worlds that seem to exist in an unclear place and time. Borremans has only recently begun to create series of works, and this book covers all of his works since 2013, including seven painting series such as "Black Mould," "Fire From the Sun," and "Girl with Hands" (the majority of which are unpublished).

In contrast to "The Duck," this book is large in size, making it an impressive piece that is reminiscent of the actual work.
