The Badger's Song by Michaël Borremans
A collection of works by Belgian artist Michaël Borremans.
The two major characteristics of Borremans' paintings, drawings, and video works are 'ambiguity' and 'contradiction'. A seemingly mundane scene made with transcendental skill, the more you look at it, the more disturbed the viewer's heart. Combining black humor, violence, absurdity, and beauty, the characters in a bizarre world that makes you feel alienated seem to exist in a place where neither time nor place are clear. Bollémans has only recently begun to create series, and this book presents a complete series of paintings from 2013 onwards, including seven painting series such as Black Mould, Fire From the Sun, and Girl with Hands. It covers a series of works (most of which are unpublished works).
In contrast to "The Duck", it is a large-format book that is reminiscent of the actual work.
