Silent Blocks by Myr Muratet

Nouveau Palais

A collection of works by French photographer Myr Muratet.

"In the spring of 2020, David Cayley, a science writer living in Toronto, wrote about the COVID-19 pandemic and the response of Western nations to the 'big picture in social control and social compliance.' Large-scale experiments and other ongoing efforts, such as legalizing telepresence as a viable method of socialization and education, increasing surveillance, standardizing biopower, and strengthening preventive measures as a basis for social life. At the same time, the streets of Paris suddenly emptied as lockdown measures were introduced to contain the pandemic, while a police-backed health system forced the government to was able to establish itself without much resistance due to its security policies, including the 'Visipirate Project' launched a few years ago. I recorded that quiet city." - Myr Muratet
