Dalpine/Skinnerboox

A collection of works by Italian photographer Michele Tagliaferri.

"While the search for novelty is innate to human nature, we also find pleasure in imposing routines on ourselves, because they give us the assurance of control and mastery over time... at least temporarily. Retaining the poetic dimension of his previous work, in this volume Tagliaferri immerses us in his love-hate relationship with his routine. The author seeks to escape the simple repetition of everyday life, but at the same time is aware of its necessity, and finds in it the joy of everyday life. Throughout the seven chapters, we become aware of the repetitions and cycles he has acquired since leaving his nomadic life to become a farmer who keeps time, and experience the same pleasure as in the simple, mundane, and routine actions of reality. These photographs, taken repeatedly in different locations with different cameras, capture the author's private life, which he has decided to share with the reader in order to make its simplicity more bearable. Everything seems monotonous, but if you look closely, small changes are taking place here and there." - Michele Tagliaferri
