Catalogue 2012 by Thomas Ruff

A collection of works by German photographer Thomas Ruff.

This book was published in conjunction with Ruff's solo exhibition held at Gagosian Gallery London in 2012. It is a compilation of two books in one: "ma.rs," which has a Mars motif; "Substrats," which abstracts and synthesizes images from anime and manga; "jpegs," which deliberately uses low-resolution images to disintegrate the images; and "nudes," a series of blurred pornographic images. The book comes with 3D glasses that allow you to view "ma.rs" in three dimensions, just like in the exhibition. It also includes an essay by Geoff Dyer and a conversation between Ruff and Hans-Ulrich Obrist.

This book is fresh in its design, combining two books into one and its large size.
