(Imperfect) Patterns by Sarah Crowner
A collection of works by American artist Sarah Crowner.
This is the second in a series of artist books that Crowner has developed around the formal aspects of her painting practice, assembling a number of patterns inspired by the research process of her latest work. These materials are comprised of repetitive visual systems found in nature, architecture, fashion, sculpture and painting, and she has collected them from a variety of media, including photographs, magazine pages, drawings and advertisements. Crowner creates a narrative from these materials, which she then uses to create a dialogue with her own artworks and short poems scattered throughout the book.
