Silences
Véronique Rolland
October 8 (Sat) - 23 (Sun), 2022

IACK is pleased to present an exhibition by London-based artist Véronique Laurent.

Laurent began his career as a portrait photographer, doing editorial work for Britain's Sunday Times, The Guardian and The Independent before moving into the field of fine art photography in the early 2000s. I moved my activity

Laurent repeatedly visits locations and subjects in several of the works he has released to date. By incorporating the cycle of seasons, time, and changes in relationship with the subject into his images, Laurent attempts to visually express the transience of nature and the immutability beyond human comprehension. Furthermore, by putting his work into the form of an artist's book, Laurent gives the viewer a more intimate and thoughtful visual experience. The book's delicate materials, layout, and colors can be understood to reflect her quiet eye for observation.

In the solo exhibition "Silences" held at IACK, three limited-edition artist books produced by Laurent in collaboration with Brighton-based private publisher "Jane & Jeremy" over the past 10 years will be presented. will be exhibited in the same space for the first time 3 artist books, 6 (2011), 54°0′13.176″N 2°32′52.278″W (2017), latest work Memories of an Unknown Island (2022), and video Through his work 54°0′13.176″N 2°32′52.278″W, Laurent explores the human condition and the natural world, questioning concepts such as ecology, femininity, change and constancy. increase

On the last day of the exhibition, we are planning to hold an event with the artist. Please take this opportunity to have a look
